Tottenham now face competition from Real Madrid in their pursuit of Oliver Glasner after making contact to hire the Austrian.
What’s the story?
Well, this throws a spanner in the works for Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.
The Telegraph believe Conte is set to leave Tottenham this week following his remarkable outburst on Saturday, in which he called his own players “selfish” and paid reference to years of failure at Spurs.
Ryan Mason is expected to take charge on an interim basis until a long-term replacement is found.
As a result, the north Londoners have made contact with Glasner – according to Bild in Germany.
The 48-year-old has impressed Tottenham after winning the Europa League at Eintracht Frankfurt last season, while also steering the Bundesliga outfit to the Champions League Round of 16 this term.
However – according to a newer story from Bild – Glasner is also wanted by Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are thinking about life after Carlo Ancelotti with the Italian’s contract set to expire in July 2024.

Interestingly, Glasner is not the only Tottenham target who could potentially take over from Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Give Me Sport believe Thomas Tuchel is another option for Tottenham.
However – according to The Times – he is currently learning Spanish with the Real Madrid job in his sights.

As talented as Glasner is, Real Madrid would surely opt for Tuchel instead given his strong pedigree in management, which would leave Spurs free to hire the impressive Eintracht Frankfurt boss.
In our view – for what it’s worth – the Real Madrid job would pile huge pressure on Glasner so early after his star began to rise across Europe, so a move to N17 would probably make more sense for his career at this stage.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Tottenham look set to move on from Conte sooner rather than later after his explosive interview on Saturday.
