Who is actress Gemma Whelan from “Game of Thrones”?
Born Gemma Elizabeth Whelan on the 23rd of April 1981, in Leeds, Yorkshire England, Gemma Whelan is a 37-year-old Caucasian actress and comedian, perhaps best known for portraying the reckless heiress Yara Greyjoy in one of the most popular shows of all time, “Game of Thrones”.
Early Life and Education
Aside from the date and place of her birth, virtually nothing is known about Gemma’s early childhood, including the identities of her parents, and according to current sources, it doesn’t look like Gemma had any siblings either. There is also no information about her teenage years and adolescence, so media sources are in the dark about when she first took an interest in what she does today. However, apparently Gemma went through several phases as a child, seeing as she mastered multiple crafts before becoming an actress. First off, she is a professional dancer, specializing in tap and jazz dance styles, likely having taken classes as a child in order to get to this level of mastery, which makes her an active member of the Beaux Belles dance group based in London. Additionally, she has substantial training in musical theater, and a highly developed mezzo-soprano singing voice, meaning it is likely that she took singing lessons as a child as well. Furthermore, she can speak conversational Spanish. Therefore, in spite of the fact that it’s not known whether she attended college, or ever matriculated from high school, it can be assumed that Gemma is highly educated nonetheless.
Career
There is no data regarding her early employment history until 2005, when Gemma participated in her first big official play, entitled “Newsrevue” at the Edinburgh Festival. After that, she was seen in almost a dozen plays, which undoubtedly served as a springboard for her career leap into cinematography. Her TV screen debut took place in 2006, when she landed a minor role in the TV series entitled “The Enforcers”, going on to enact more than several characters in various films and TV shows. As her popularity and recognition steadily rose, so did her chances to star. It’s important to note that Gemma is also a stand-up comedian, and during this time she was also doing comedy. Finally, in 2012, she got her biggest break by participating in the making of the eventually legendary “Game of Thrones.” At the moment, Gemma is involved in two shoots.

Love Life
Being seriously devoted to her career, apparently Gemma hasn’t found the time to share information regarding any boyfriend or spouse, although it’s undeniably evident that she has one. All that the media knows is that his name is Gerry, although the time when they started dating and any plans for the future will remain a mystery. In July 2017, Gemma announced that she is expecting her first child with her partner. In some of her latest Instagram posts, Gemma can be seen interacting with the child, looking quite happy with the way her life has turned out so far.
