On Tuesday, a Louisiana man who raped a child received a 35-year prison sentence and was ordered to undergo chemical castration.
According to WVUE, in 2020 police were alerted to illicit incidents involving Ryan Clark, 34, and a juvenile younger than 13. It is unclear how the victim and Clark are connected, but as part of his sentence, Clark was required to relinquish all of his parental rights.
WBRZ reported that authorities may have identified a second victim of Clark’s. Details regarding that case were not disclosed.
Earlier this month, Clark pleaded guilty to second-degree rape, molestation of a juvenile under 13, and sexual battery. He is required to register as a sex offender as a result.
Clark was also ordered to get injections of medroxyprogesterone acetate, a drug that lowers sex drive by decreasing testosterone levels. Chemical castration was legalized in Louisiana in 2008 for offenders convicted of various sex crimes, including rape and child molestation.

WVUE reported that the injections are to start a week before a sex offender is released from prison. Clark must complete 25 years of his sentence before he is eligible for release.
