The Someone You Love star performed in front of a packed audience at the Spektrum Arena in Oslo, Norway, on Friday before moving on to perform at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday.

But fans noticed that the musician began struggling with his voice during his performance in Stockholm.

Lewis revealed to fans last night that he “tried his best” to get through the show before being diagnosed with bronchitis by a voice specialist.

This is an infection of the main airways of the lungs which causes them to become irritated and inflamed.

As a result, Lewis has been told he needs to rest his vocal cords for three days to prevent him from damaging his voice.

This means that he has been forced to push his upcoming shows in Zurich and Milan, where he was supposed to be performing tomorrow and Wednesday, back to May.

Breaking the news to devastated fans on Twitter yesterday, Lewis wrote: “Zurich & Milan, I’m absolutely devastated to be typing this.

“As lots of you know for the past few nights of tour I’ve been really struggling with my voice, last night in Stockholm I tried my best to sing through the show even with it feeling really uncomfortable because I was desperate not to let any of you down.

“I’ve just been to see a voice specialist in Sweden who’s told me I’ve got bronchitis and that I should be on vocal rest for at least three days to give my any chance of not damaging my voice and being able to continue touring.

“I’m so very sorry to say that means that the shows in Zurich tomorrow night and in Milan the day after will be postponed.

“I’ve already checked with the venues free days they can do as well as dates I can make it back over to play these sold out shows that I’ve been buzzing for for so long!

“Milan, the show will now be Wednesday May 31st 2023 and Zurich the show will now be on Wednesday 28th June 2023.

“All original tickets for the shows will be valid, you don’t need to do anything else.

“Hate letting you all down and this is the last thing I want to be writing.

“Going to be doing everything I can with rest and medication to be ready for Barcelona onwards.”

The post quickly racked up more than 11,600 likes, 320 comments and 570 shares.

Heartbroken fans flocked to comments to share their disappointment at the news but wished him well on his recovery.

One person said: “You are not letting anyone down. Your health comes first. You’ve been sick since Cologne and it sounded painful at times during the concert. So take the time to get well”.

Another added: “Was going to see you tomorrow and would’ve hated knowing you pushed through a show being unwell just because you didn’t want to let us down. Hope you feel better soon and you get some well deserved rest.”

Someone else wrote: “Came to Zürich for my fiancée’s 30th birthday to see you. Not quite gone to plan. Hope you recover soon. Not sure when we’ll next be able to see you now.”

A fourth posted: “Your health comes first always. You go above and beyond for us fans and you could never let us down. Rest up Lewis”.
