Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has admitted that he’s “not very good” at heading the ball.
The Spurs star, speaking to UEFA, also said he and his teammates often joke about his heading abilities (or lack thereof).
Kulusevski might be an outstanding player, but he isn’t the most gifted in terms of heading the ball.

According to Transfermarkt, he has scored just three headed goals in his entire career, including youth football.
Indeed, two of those were at Under-17 and Under-19 level respectively.
However, the third was a winner in a Champions League group game.
It came in the 2021-22 campaign as Kulusevski headed in the only goal in a 1-0 win over Zenit Saint-Petersburg.
Ahead of Tottenham’s crucial last-16 second leg against AC Milan, the Spurs ace spoke about that goal.

In doing so, he also commented on his (lack of) heading ability and how his teammates are all too aware of it too.
“I’m not very good with my head; we always joke about that,” Kulusevski told UEFA.
“It was just a fantastic goal and I remember that I didn’t even celebrate because it was just a relief.”

Worth improving
While heading is an important part of the game, there have been players who have got to the very top whilst not being the best headers of the ball.
David Beckham was one such player. Apparently he only ever scored one header in his career.
Nevertheless, Kulusevski should certainly look to improve that aspect of his game, if only to get it to a level that no longer warrants joking about.
At 6ft 1in, the Spurs ace has the height to be a useful weapon in the air, and at 22 years of age, he has plenty of time to keep improving.
