FC Barcelona are reportedly yet to match Athletico Paranaense’s asking price to sign Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque, who Arsenal are also believed to be interested in.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga giants original proposal of €25m (£22m) won’t be enough to bring the striker from Brazil to Catalonia, with some reports suggesting that Paranaense want nearly double this fee if they’re to let Roque leave for Europe.

As reported by Goal, Arsenal are big fans of Roque and are firmly in the race to sign the 18-year-old attacker, and this latest update concerning Barcelona could be viewed as an encouraging piece of news for the north London club in their pursuit to sign the teenager.
Indeed, whilst Roque has recently revealed that his dream is to one day play for Barcelona, the Catalan side could now miss out on the South American prospect if they’re unable to match Paranaense’s asking price for their star product, which could open an opportunity for Arsenal.
Whilst an attacker isn’t a priority for the Gunners this summer, a talent as good as Roque only comes around once in a blue moon, and Arsenal would be wise to take a punt at the opportunity to sign the Brazilian teenager, who could be a long-term option for the north London side.
Arsenal should move to sign Roque with Barcelona fumbling the bag

Barcelona’s financial issues were always going to cause issues this summer, and it appears that the problems are already surfacing with the Blaugrana seemingly struggling to match the asking price for Roque, and Arsenal must now pounce to sign the attacker.
At 18, Roque is one of the most exciting young forwards in world football, and Arsenal beating a club like Barcelona to the teenager’s signature would be nothing short of exceptional, with the forward a player who could add a lot of depth to the north London side’s squad for next season.
