Jermain Defoe has praised Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal for being ‘fantastic’ this season as they push for the Premier League title.
The former striker, who is now working as a coach at Tottenham Hotspur, added ‘I can’t say that’ when Michael Owen backed Arsenal to win the title this season.
But he did still give the Premier League leaders their flowers for how they are performing and their reaction to poor results in recent weeks.
After a three-game blip, which saw defeats to Everton and Manchester City, as well as dropped points against Brentford.
They have backed it up by winning back-to-back games, including their 1-0 win at Leicester City over the weekend.
That’s a great reaction from the team, with Defoe sharing his thoughts on the Gunners, as he told Premier League Productions.
“I think so (it will go all the way),” said Defoe. “I think Arsenal have been fantastic. When they had a wobble, the manager wanted a reaction and he managed to get that.

“They have played well. They have done well this season. When a Man City team are chasing you, it’s never easy, but they showed good character against Leicester City. A fantastic performance. They create so many chances. I think it’s going to go all the way, for sure.
“Interesting (on Michael Owen backing Arsenal to win the title). I can’t say that.”
