Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s upcoming contest against Chelsea, Pape Matar Sarr has reserved special praise Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma.
The pair have been injured recently, with Dejan Kulusevski especially emphasising the impact of losing the quality and leadership of the Uruguayan international. Unfortunately for Cristian Stellini, the midfield duo are also unavailable to face Graham Potter’s side.
As all eyes lie on whether Tottenham can do what is expected of them by beating Chelsea, Pape Matar Sarr has spoken about the impact of losing a pair of top players like Rodrigo Bentancur.

While the Malian international would perhaps have been unlikely to feature consistency if he was fit, the same cannot be said for the former Juventus lynchpin, who has showcased his quality to the extent that Ronald Araujo has admitted to wanting him at Barcelona.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Pape Matar Sarr has complimented Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, while also painting a picture of how their absences have impacted Tottenham, who are set to face Chelsea this Sunday.
“Honestly, it has been hard for the team. Yes, it has given me an opportunity. We need [Rodrigo Bentancur] and [Yves] Bissouma, so we had to experiment.”

“They are experienced, golden players and we need them for the help of the team, the coach and the club. We are without those who are injured but I’m sure they will come back quickly and stronger.”

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Chelsea, it is a timely reminder that while Rodrigo Bentancur is ‘incredible’ and his absence will be felt, the same can be said for Yves Bissouma, as Pape Matar Sarr said.
The latter has been slammed by many for failing to live up to the billing so far, with Jamie O’Hara even referring to him as ‘absolutely shocking’ but it is key to remember that the 26-year-old has played limited minutes and was a stellar player during his time at Brighton.
All in all, the criticism surrounding the club makes many forget the constant injury problems they have been forced to deal with, including the absences of two key figures.
