Why Enrique Iglesias And Anna Kournikova Still Aren't Married

It seems as though marriage has never been a priority for Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias. In a 2011 interview with Women’s Health, Kournikova explained her way of thinking. “[Marriage] isn’t important to me. I’m in a happy relationship – that’s all that matters,” she said, adding, “I believe in commitment. I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely.” In a 2012 interview with Parade, Iglesias dove a bit further into the couple’s method of thinking. “I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper,” he told the outlet. He admitted that it had become less taboo to have children without being married and said that he and Kournikova feel that it’s more important to be “good” parents.

Years later, Iglesias shared similar sentiments while chatting with The Sun. “We’re just as happy. There comes a point when you’ve been with someone for a certain amount of time that I believe that you are like, married,” he told the outlet in 2017. “I guess the only difference is that we haven’t walked down the aisle,” he continued. Kournikova and Iglesias do their best to keep their personal lives private and rarely share photos of one another on social media — but there is no doubt that they are dedicated to one another.
