While Grant Gustin has been thrust into the limelight since landing his role in “The Flash,” Andrea Thoma has led a more private life over the years. Despite this privacy, Thoma has apparently lived an interesting life. While studying exercise physiology at Kent State University, the 34-year-old played on the soccer team — which is something she enjoyed doing until sustaining an injury in 2016. This hasn’t stopped Thoma from exploring other sports, though. “I have played competitive soccer my whole life until my last knee surgery (of 5) in 2016,” she wrote in a 2021 Instagram post. She added, “Since then I have been trying my hand in more non contact sports to satisfy my competitive bug.”

Following her graduation from Kent State University, Thoma went on to Old Dominion University where she bagged a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Today, the Ohio native works as a professional physical therapist, with a clientele consisting of celebrities like Camila Mendes and Danielle Panabaker. Given her interest in physical therapy, it’s only natural that Thoma has documented her workouts and fitness routines on social media over the years. To take it up a notch, in 2021, she founded Dare To Be Active, a fitness app providing step-by-step workout/exercise routines performed by Thoma herself.
