Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing Mikel Arteta’s transformation at Arsenal and his training sessions.
As we’ve seen, Arteta has completely transformed this Arsenal team this season, and Seaman says that he could see this transformation coming when he’s been at the training ground.
Seaman goes into Colney once a week to help with the goalkeeping coaching, and he says that he’s always been able to tell that Arteta was doing the right things, even if the players didn’t get on board with it immediately.

Arteta’s training looks good
Seaman shared what he noticed about Arteta’s training sessions.
“I did see it coming a little bit only because I go in once a week now and I’m in and around the training ground. When he had that little wobble last season I could see what he was doing and it was good, the players were struggling to get on board with it a little bit and then all of a sudden it just seemed to click and now we’re seeing what we’re seeing,” Seaman said.

Working now
It may have taken some time for Arteta to get his team into gear, but now, the Gunners are bearing the fruits of his labour.
Indeed, the Arsenal manager’s work on the training ground is now paying off, and it certainly looks as though every player in the squad is now buying into his techniques and tactics.
Arsenal could easily have given up on the Arteta project after a year or two, but they persevered and have been justified in their decision to stick with their manager.
More clubs could do with following this example and giving their managers time to implement their ideas.
