Officers found the body of 51-year-old Janet Guthrie in a home in the Bribie Island suburb of Bongaree after they were called to the property for a welfare check on February 16.

Detective Inspector Ben Fadian said a “disturbance” at the Melia Street house on Wednesday was reported to police on Thursday, which sparked the welfare check.

“As a result of that, we conducted a welfare check at the address and located the female person deceased inside,” he said.

The following day police found a 47-year-old man at South Caboolture who helped officers with inquiries.

He has since been charged with murder (domestic violence), entering a dwelling with intent, robbery, and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

The 47-year-old was refused bail and will face court tomorrow.

Police are still appealing for anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of a white 2000 Isuzu NKR 200 truck utility with Queensland registration 170ZBA. (Queensland Police)

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the truck to come forward.
