Kate Hudson doesn’t have a relationship with her half-siblings which is, in part, due to not having a close relationship with her biological father, Bill Hudson. Bill and Hawn welcomed two children, Kate and her brother Oliver Hudson, during their relationship. According to AmoMama, Bill reportedly divorced Goldie Hawn in 1980 due to accusations of infidelity. Hawn then went on to enter a long-standing relationship with Kurt Russell, the two had a son of their own, Wyatt Russell. Bill was married to Cindy Williams and the pair later welcomed two children, Emily and Zack, per People, before divorcing. In 2006, he also welcomed another daughter Lalania.
After their split, his co-parenting relationship with Goldie and his involvement with his children took a major hit and became non-existent. “When we split up, she never had a bad word to say about me,” Bill shared with Daily Mail in June 2015. “But when Kurt [Russell] came on the scene, the narrative changed and I became the big, bad wolf. I would say to her ‘Goldie, why are you trashing me and saying I’m an absent father when it’s simply not the case?’ and she’d laugh and go ‘Oh Bill, you know it makes for a better story.'”

According to Bill, he tried to bring all of his children together. However, the musician accused Hawn of making that difficult.
