Lara Spencer may technically be the more recognizable spouse, but Rick McVey’s career is nothing to scoff at. According to LinkedIn, McVey is the CEO of MarketAxess, a tech company that he founded in 2000. McVey describes MarketAxess as “the leading electronic trading platform for global credit products.”
Previously, McVey worked for J.P. Morgan & Co. as a managing director in the ’90s before later going into business for himself. Prior to that, McVey attended Miami University and Indiana University — Kelley School of Business, where he received his B.A. and M.B.A. respectively. McVey’s efforts with MarketAxess tech have paid off tremendously, as he’s worth a staggering $600 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Soon, McVey will expand his role with his company.

According to Yahoo, in April 2023 McVey is set to become MarketAxess’s executive chairman, leaving the role of CEO to the company’s current president, Chris Concannon. In a statement, McVey shared, “I am looking forward to my transition to Executive Chairman where my focus will be on supporting Chris in his new role, further developing corporate strategy, and working closely with key clients and our Board of Directors.”
