Ana Walshe

The husband of a Massachusetts woman who has been missing since New Year’s Day has been arrested and charged with misleading a police investigation.

Brian Walshe, 46, was taken into custody after investigators returned Sunday morning to the home he shared with 39-year-old Ana Walshe and their three children.

Ana Walshe was last seen in the home shortly after midnight on January 1, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Friends said she was supposed to fly to Washington, D.C., for her job, but she never made a flight. She was also supposedly taking a ride share to the airport, but that is also unclear.

Brian Walshe and his wife’s employer, D.C.-based real estate company Tishman Speyer, reported her missing on Wednesday.

Investigators announced on Saturday they were halting their ground search for Ana Walshe until new evidence was uncovered, but marked and unmarked cruised swarmed to the house at about 9 a.m. Sunday and were seen going in and out of the house taking pictures.

“Police developed probable cause to believe that (Ana Walshe’s) husband, Brian Walshe, had committed the crime of misleading police investigators,” the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement issued after his arrest.

WCVB said Walshe is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
