A woman has been charged with murder over the deaths of a Queensland father and his 10-year-old daughter five days before Christmas.

The remains of Todd Mooney, 54, and his 10-year-old daughter Kirra were found after a shed fire at Biggenden, southeast of Bundaberg, on December 20.

The local bakery owner was due to marry his fiancee on December 28.

Investigators initially believed the pair died in a tragic accident before post-mortem results steered police to treat the incident as a homicide.

Police have charged a 24-year-old Maryborough woman with two counts of murder and one count of arson.

The woman is not known to the Mooney family, and investigations are continuing into the incident.

She is expected to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen a white Holden Barina wagon with a distinctive solar panel on the roof in the area around the time of the fire to contact police.

CCTV footage was released on Monday by detectives from the Maryborough Criminal Investigation Branch in the hopes of identifying three people who may have information.

The footage and images were taken between 11.50am and 12.20pm on the day of the incident at the Ban Ban Springs BP Service Station, corner of Isis Hwy and Burnett Hwy.

The three people are said to have no link to the incident but may be able to assist in the investigation.

Detective Inspector Gary Pettiford told the Courier Mail Mr Mooney’s fiance, Bec Hansen, was working at the bakery when the fire started about noon on December 20.

Inspector Pettiford said Ms Hansen was left ‘distraught’ by the loss of her partner and her daughter.

A GoFundme has been set up by Ms Hansen’s brother Troy Hansen, to raise funds for the family.

Remembering Kirra and Todd taken too soon’, Mr Hansen said, ‘the tragic loss of two people so close to Christmas and their upcoming nuptials has taken a toll on the family.’

‘We are hoping to assist the family with any outstanding costs associated with this tragedy’.

‘This life changing incident happened 5 days before Christmas and 8 days before Todd was meant to marry his partner Rebecca, Kirra’s mother.’

The Go Fund Me has raised over $4805 since it was set up on Tuesday.
