A confused cow has stirred up some trouble in Caddens, Western Sydney causing two emergencies in 24 hours.

The cow was first spotted trotting through a Caddens’ shopping centre with no owner in sight.

Fire authorities and local police removed her from the shops and decided to keep her on the grounds of a university, in the nearby suburb of Werrington.

She stayed there for safekeeping overnight, but the cow seemed to get into more trouble at 10.30am this morning when an emergency call revealed she had gotten stuck in some mud and was unable to move.

Fire crews returned to the site to find her stuck up to her stomach in mud.

NSW Police and Campus Security joined the firefighters to help pull the cow to safety.

Together, they used a 38mm fire hose and created a makeshift lasso, throwing it over the cow’s neck to gently guide her out of the mud.
