Professor Green, 39, posted a picture of his battered and bruised face on Instagram as part of a look back at 2022.

The nightmare unfolded in April when he had a ‘grand mal’ – where you lose consciousness and suffer violent muscle contractions.

The star said he has been “clawing my way back ever since”.

Green wrote: “I had a grand mal seizure while home alone, fell face down into steel and concrete and convulsed for 8 minutes repeatedly hitting my head and face – I’ve never watched the cctv.

“The bruising internally was more the issue and I’ve been clawing my way back ever since.”

Green added: “It was caused by a culmination of things, but largely I’d not been taking care of myself, the opposite in fact.

“I nearly lost my family, my family then nearly lost me. Deal with s**t. If you don’t, it’ll deal with you.”

The star was praised for his honesty by fans, with many celebrities offering their support.

The Masked Singer’s Mo Gillian wrote: “Keep going my guy” while actress Sheridan Smith said: “Hope you’re ok xx 😍.”

He has suffered seizures before, cancelling a tour in 2019 after fracturing vertebrae in his neck during a fall.

The singer told fans at the time: “I’ve had two further seizures and am lucky I didn’t break my neck. Really f***ing lucky. Thanks for baring with me.”

Pro Green is known for songs including the No1 hit Read All About It with Emili Sandé and for hosting Channel 5’s Lip Sync Battle UK with Mel B.

He also appeared on Holly Willoughby game show Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof last year.

The star welcomed a son with his actress partner Karima McAdams in 2021.

He was previously married to Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, with the pair tying the knot in Somerset in 2013, but they divorced in 2016.
