Skydiving horror as person plunges into a tree near Sydney after both of his parachutes failed with paramedics working to pull him from the branches

  • The skydiver plunged into a tree in Wilton, a suburb 80km south west of Sydney 
  •  Emergency services rushed to the scene and found the man fully conscious
  • He was taken to hospital and with possible injuries to his ankle, hip and back

Paramedics have rushed to dense bushland outside of Sydney after a skydiver crash landed in a tree.

Emergency services were called to Wilton, 80km south west of Sydney, on Monday at about 2pm following reports of a skydiving accident. 

The 32-year-old skydiver was jumping alone with Sydney Skydivers when both of his parachutes failed to open and plummeted to the ground. 

Police and paramedics were called to help locate the man, who had become entangled in a tree, near Picton and Wilton Park Road.

The skydiver is reported to have suffered injuries to his ankle, hip and back but is conscious and in a stable condition. 

It’s understood the skydiver was fully conscious and talking when ambulances arrived.

It’s understood an investigation will be launched into the cause of the accident once the skydiving company is able to speak with the skydiver.
