Previously available to Singapore citizens, permanent residents and registered frequent visitors, authorities have now opened the ‘fast track’ to passports holders from Australia and about 40 other countries and scrapped the registration process.

The simplified process enables travellers at Changhi to head towards the e-passport lanes instead of queueing for manual immigration clearance.

Passengers must be aged six and above.

Workers are scheduled to strike at Canberra Airport on Friday, and then at Brisbane and the Gold Coast next Monday.

It’s part of an ongoing pay dispute, with the United Workers Union calling for a 10 to 15 per cent rise.
