Aubrey O’Day did not hold back when it came to shading ex-boyfriend Pauly D in an exclusive interview with Page Six.
The former Danity Kane frontwoman brought up the “Jersey Shore” star” – whom she dated on and off from 2016 to 2018 – while discussing her latest song, “Couple Goals,” which she wrote after the two broke up for good.
O’Day made sure to clarify that the track was not inspired by the DJ – as some outlets reported – admitting to us, “I don’t like the words ‘inspire’ and ‘Pauly D’ in the same sentence.”
“The pain was brought on by the man, and the inspiration was me,” the singer, 38, said, adding that she didn’t “finish it in studio and produce it” until recently because she was “still too emotionally attached” to everything that occurred.
“I don’t like to release anything that I’m still attached to emotionally because you can trick yourself in regards to what your intentions are,” she explained. “So I wanted to make sure that my intentions were only about releasing a piece of music and telling a story that could potentially help other people.”
“Couple Goals” begins with O’Day singing, “Turned on the TV the other day / Saw you with your new girl talkin’ all the way. You show her love, love / She even called it ‘couple goals.’”
“Poor, poor girl, you think you got the whole world / But he’s just giving you the same show, same story from before,” she sings later on, before seemingly addressing just how close she got to Pauly’s 9-year-old daughter, Amabella, whom he shares with a former Las Vegas cocktail waitress named Amanda Markert.
“I heard the s–t you said / You wished me and your daughter never met. She called me ‘Mom,’ but that’s cool, it wasn’t my job / I kinda like being the only one alive that knows exactly how you love and lie.”

During our chat, O’Day also opened up for the first time about her long-rumored affair with Donald Trump Jr., whom she referred to as her “soulmate.”
“I think to find what him and I had is probably going to be very, very difficult. And I’m not banking on it,” she admitted. “I completely gave up on [love] after that, which is how I was able to be with Pauly. I mean, he doesn’t own a book, he doesn’t read. It’s not somebody that would have been for me.”
The pop star began seeing Pauly (real name: Paul DelVecchio) while the two were filming the relationship rehab reality show, “Famously Single.”
O’Day admitted to us that she was “in a super inauthentic place” at the time, still completely broken by he demise of her alleged relationship with Don Jr., 44.
“I was chasing ideas and looks,” she explained, adding that she and the “Jersey Shore” star had way more in common on paper than they did in real life.
The songstress also claimed she “had to work overtime” – both figuratively and literally – to keep up the couple’s appearances.
“I had two jobs to fake everything and then to live in the reality of what it was,” she said.
Pauly has not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
