Emergency services have rescued a teenage boy after he became trapped in a stormwater drain.
The boy slipped and fell into the drain along Chapel Road at Bankstown in Sydney’s south-west on Tuesday morning.
Paramedics and fire and rescue crews were called to the scene just before 11am.

It’s understood the young boy fractured his arm after falling into the drain.

Fire and rescue crews eventually managed to pull the teenager out.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene before he was rushed to Bankstown Lidcombe Hospital.
The boy is in a stable condition.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Craig Watkins said in a statement: ‘This patient slipped and fell in the storm water drain while trying to retrieve a ball, which meant he couldn’t climb out.’
‘Our Special Operations Team paramedics, in collaboration with Fire and Rescue NSW, were able to make contact with the boy and begin treating his fractured arm before safely extricating him.’
