Support for the Labor government has dropped, meaning Labor and the Coalition are neck-and-neck days out from the Victorian election, according to the latest polling.
A survey conducted by Resolve Strategic for The Age has shown Labor’s primary vote has fallen by seven percentage points since the last election, down to 36 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Coalition’s primary vote has risen five percentage points since it was recorded as at 31 per cent in the last Resolve Strategic Poll in October, making the two parties level when it comes to primary voting.

On a two-party preferred basis, Labor is still ahead of the Coalition, but the gap has narrowed.

Labor is leading 53 to 47 per cent in the poll, compared to the 59-to-41 split recorded in late October.

Daniel Andrews is still well ahead of Matthew Guy when it comes to the state’s preferred Premier, with the split coming in as 48 to 34 per cent.

Resolve director Jim Reed has told The Age Labor will be at risk of losing between eight to 12 seats if the poll’s findings are replicated on election day on Saturday.

The Resolve Political Monitor surveyed about 1000 Victorians from Wednesday to Sunday.
