The family of a father who was killed in an attack in Perth is furious his killer won’t be kept behind bars for longer.

Jaylen Dimer punched popular Paramount nightclub manager Giuseppe Raco in the back of the head outside a Northbridge kebab shop in 2020.

The death changed laws in Western Australia but Dimer could walk free from jail in three years.

Despite a fight from the family for a tougher punishment, three Supreme Court judges rejected a bid to increase the 26-year-old’s seven-and-a-half-year sentence today.

Dimer is free to apply for parole in January 2025.

Raco’s widow, Enza, told the media she thought the situation was “not fair”.

“I have to go visit my husband in the cemetery every week,” she said.

“My daughter, it’s her second birthday next week and she’s never met him.”

Raco’s father, Dominic, said the family was “hoping for a little bit of justice”.

“The only thing we got back was BS,” he said.

“He was working, minding his own business and he got killed for no reason.”

The incident sparked new laws banning violent offenders from nightclubs but the family is vowing to fight for even tougher measures.

Their next step is securing a meeting with Attorney General John Quigley.

“How am I going to explain this to my little granddaughters?” Raco’s father said.

“I say because dad went to work to bring food to the table, he got killed for that.”
