Food Standards Australian New Zealand has issued a notice advising people they should not eat Smiths Crinkle Cut Salt & Vinegar Chips marked with Best Before date ’15 Jan 23′.

It is believed chips in 45g, 90g and 170g bags could be contaminated with plastic pieces, which could cause injury if eaten.

The chips have been on sale at Woolworths and independent stores in NSW and Queensland and IGA in Queensland​.

People are being advised not the eat the particular bags of chips as they could “cause injury”.

Customers can contact ​The Smith’s Snackfood Company ​to organise a refund.
