On Wednesday, Nevada police reportedly executed a search warrant at an elected official’s home in connection with last week’s stabbing death of a journalist who reported on his alleged misconduct.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that police officers were spotted outside the home of Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, 45, a Democrat who lost his re-election bid in June.
Jeff German, 69, who worked for the publication, not only reported how Telles’ harbored a toxic work environment rife with bullying, but how Telles had an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.
On September 3, German was found stabbed to death outside of his home. At the time, police said they believed the incident was isolated.
In addition to photos of the suspect, police said they were seeking a 2007 to 2014 red or maroon GMC Yukon Denali with chrome handles, a sunroof, and a roof rack. Reports indicated that a car matching this description was found in Telles’ driveway after German’s slaying.
Telles’ term is expected to end in January.
