Aussie superstar Nick Kyrgios is looking to continue his giant-killing ways when he takes on 27th seeded Russian Karen Khachanov in the US Open quarter finals.
There is a somewhat fiery history between Kyrgios and Khachanov. They were embroiled in a bitter social media spat in which the Aussie branded his opponent ‘an absolute pelican’ over COVID philosophies.
No doubt the blockbuster will be an intense affair, with Kyrgios already copping $23,000 worth of fines for swearing at his own supporters in his last two matches; while Khachanov made it through to the quarters after his opponent, Pablo Carreno Busta, ‘tanked’ in the fourth round.
