Gautam Adani, already the richest man in Asia, has overtaken the chief of the world’s biggest luxury products group to become the world’s third-richest person.

According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, the Indian mogul and owner of one of the country’s top conglomerates is believed to be worth more than $197 billion.

He has tipped LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton chairperson and chief executive officer Bernard Arnault from third place.

There are some common themes across the top 10 richest people: they’re all men, a majority made their wealth in technology and many are invested in space exploration businesses.
