Candace Cameron Bure freaked out when filmmaker wanted to edit her ‘aging’ neck for role: ‘Back to therapy’

Candace Cameron Bure was stunned by a filmmaker suggesting her neck needed editing for a movie role.

“I just shot a movie and there’s a flashback scene in it,” the “Full House” alum, 49, said during a recent episode of her eponymous podcast, adding that the scene is “supposed to be from 15 years ago,” making her character “about 30.”

Bure then told co-host Lisa Whittle that in order to achieve the character’s younger version, the footage goes to post-production effects, where the filmmaker explained to her they would “digitally alter [her] face” so that she “look[s] younger.”

During the process, she said, a VFX team would “smooth [her] wrinkles out,” as well as address “crow’s feet” and “smile lines.”

“And then he goes, ‘and your neck,’” she recalled the filmmaker adding. “And I was like ‘Wait, what? What? My neck? You need to do something with my neck?”

The incredulous mom of three — who did not disclose the movie she was referring to — admitted that she was stunned by the suggestion. “I have never considered that my neck looks old, that my neck has aged,” she exclaimed. “I didn’t even think about it!”

She added, “And then when he told me he’s gonna work on my neck, I’m like, ‘Oh, great. I’m going back to therapy!”

Laughing, the actress said, “I got another thing to think of! What is happening?”

In the comments thread of the podcast clip, fans reacted to the confession. “You look amazing in all ages! Such an inspiration to me! ❤️,” one person wrote, while another added, “One of the few celebrities that are not unrecognizable. You look amazing!!!!”

A third remarked, “I think you age beautifully!! Never change 🥹,” with a fourth chiming in, “You look beautiful!!!”

Others took a comedic approach to Bure’s story. “And this is why I had a neck lift and facelift 😂,” one follower quipped.

Bure — whose daughter Natasha, 27, tied the knot with former Disney Channel star Bradley Steven Perry earlier this month — has previously dealt with body-shaming.

After a fan asked Bure if she removed a photo earlier in September, she took to Instagram Stories to confirm she did remove a pic of herself in a swimsuit, “not a bikini,” while “soaking up the end of summer.”

“It wasn’t about the bathing suit or my body,” she recalled of the online criticism. “But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body.”

She added, “It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”

The Hallmark Channel actress later showed off her youthful physique via Instagram Stories in a skin-baring crop top.
