A tourist is fighting for life after he was allegedly hit by his own caravan when someone tried to steal it at a service station in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.
The 76-year-old’s Isuzu D-Max ute and attached white caravan were parked at a service station on the remote Great Northern Highway in Halls Creek about 10.45am yesterday.
The owner was inspecting the caravan when it’s alleged somebody got into the ute and drove off, hitting him.
He suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown via the Royal Flying Doctor Service to the Royal Darwin Hospital.
The ute and caravan, which have South Australian number plates, are still missing.
Police are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
