Nicola and Brooklyn’s lavish ceremony on August 2 has already deepened the rift between the 26-year-old and his famous parents, David and Victoria, with none of their family invited to the big day.
And yesterday, we revealed how the aspiring chef has been frozen out by his celeb pals, who “have sensed a shift in his life and priorities” since he tied the knot three years ago.
However, Selena’s no-show has raised questions about tensions in Nicola’s own inner circle, with fans noting the actress has failed to congratulate the couple on social media or like any of their photos of the ceremony.
Suspicions were raised further after she posted gushingly this week about another celeb wedding, having attended the nuptials of rapper Lil Dicky with her fiancé Benny Blanco.
Now, those close to Selena tell us how Nicola’s “attention-seeking” behaviour has driven a wedge between the pair, who were once so close that they famously joked about being in a “throuple” with Brooklyn.
A source told The Sun: “They’ve had arguments and have been distant for many months now – they don’t even talk any more.
“Selena has been truly disappointed with Nicola and Brooklyn for a while now.
“Last year, she noticed Nicola’s behaviour toward her and Benny turned into a constant quest for attention.
“There were many tense moments, for example, during dinners and lunches, where Nicola would try to sit where photographers could get the best angle, and she wasn’t very nice to Selena if people weren’t paying enough attention to her.
“Selena herself doesn’t care much for attention, but she doesn’t like it when someone acts like a ‘bratty teen’ and tries to push people aside.”

Selena’s absence was all the more noticeable after her pal Dominic West was photographed at the vow renewal, with her former assistant Theresa Mingus also said to be on the guest list.

Selena was one of the few people in the couple’s lives who knew Brooklyn before he got with Nicola, having been first pictured together way back in 2015 at New York Fashion Week.
And her friendship with Nicola has regularly been splashed over social media ever since they stepped out together at the Academy Museum Gala in 2022.

They appeared to be extremely close up until the final sighting of Selena on Nicola’s Instagram on March 11, 2024.
On Selena’s social media, Nicola last featured in a post on December 30, 2023, meaning there was no congratulatory birthday message for her the following month.
Since then, the pair have been notably absent on each other’s channels and there has only been a smattering of interaction on social media – such as Nicola liking the engagement announcement of Selena and Benny, 37.
But insiders say it is the contrast between these two relationships that has led to friction between the best pals.

Our source added: “Selena and Benny are very simple people who enjoy simple things, while Nicola and Brooklyn have turned into divas who always want the last word and think they’re right about everything. Selena got tired of it.
“She decided to distance herself from them and live her life the way she wants.”
Party pals
Selena and Benny have been in a relationship since 2023 and, in the past, have regularly been seen partying with the Peltz-Beckhams.
Nicola’s last post featuring Selena was at a bash for Benny’s birthday back in March 2024, captioned: “Benny says dress up and we delivaaaa happy birthday we love you!”
The post has since been inundated with fan comments asking what has happened to the friendship.

Prior to that, they were seen together in a collection of photos from Nicola’s birthday party in January 2024, which Selena hosted and Benny cooked.
It’s said by pals that the final nail in the coffin was Nicola allegedly being unpleasant about Selena to mutual friends.
An insider said: “Nicola also said some negative things about Selena to their mutual friends, which made Selena angry – and rightly so.”
Our source adds that Brooklyn’s refusal to pull his wife up over her behaviour has caused further resentment.

“Some people have turned their backs on them because they’ve realised how Nicola behaves, and Brooklyn isn’t doing much to change the dynamic.”
Despite everything, it is claimed Selena attempted to try to salvage her relationship with Nicola multiple times, but now the “trust and connection are gone”.
Our insider added: “Selena has her own things to deal with and has had issues in the past with people who behaved this way, so she thinks it’s best to keep her distance from Nicola and Brooklyn.
