Kevin previously told how walks with the pooch even helped him come up with new stand-up material.
But he has now revealed the death of his ‘wee pal’ who had shared a fun-filled life with him.
Kevin said: “Annie, the best wee dog there ever was. My wee pal who made so many people happy and made strangers smile every day.
“Thank you to the Dogs Trust Glasgow for ever introducing us. What a life.”
The Glasgow Dogs Trust told him: “So very sorry to see this Kevin. Thank you for giving Annie such a loving home and for your support.”
Singer Amy MacDonald added: “So so sorry. What a beautiful girl.”
Fans also offered their condolences to the Glaswegian comic.
One wrote: “Is there a better friend than a dog? I don’t think so. Sorry for your loss. They leave the biggest hole and the most memories.”
Another posted: “So sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl, there’s no heartbreak quite like it.”
A third added: “I’m so sorry Kevin, sending you loads of love. What a gorgeous, good girl.”
Kevin adopted Annie from the charity in 2014 after she had been found abandoned on a street in Ireland.
It is thought she may have been born on a puppy farm in Cork.
He previously told how he once lost his dog 20 minutes before a gig only to discover she was on stage being cheered by fans.
Kevin was warming up for a night in Inverness when he realised Annie had vanished but was relieved to find her safe and well.
He then brought her out again after appeals from the crowd and she even graced the stage at the end of his gigs including the final night of a record-breaking run at Glasgow’s Hydro arena.
