A 20-year-old man will face court today after he allegedly crashed a car into a house during a police chase in Sydney’s west.

Police said a black hatchback was allegedly first spotted driving at speed on Earl Street in Doonside just before 2am today.

A short time later, officers attempted to stop the same vehicle on Judith Anderson Drive.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

Police said the chase was called off when the car left the road and hit a a house on Karuah Street.

A witness said they were just metres away when the car ploughed into the home’s fence.

“We heard a massive bang and all we could see was a car on the side of our house,” he said.

“We where sitting in front of the house where the car had the accident, so two-metres left, it would have been a different story tonight.”

A 20-year-old man was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with failing to stop during a police pursuit and reckless driving.

He was refused bail due to appear at Parramatta Local court today.
