Police were called to Werribee Plaza in Hoppers Crossing after reports a machete-wielding gang of six assaulted a 14-year-old boy in the centre’s carpark about 4.40pm.

The teenager was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The offenders then fled the scene in a black Hyundai i30 sedan, police said.

No arrests have been made and police are now looking for the group of six men.

An investigation remains ongoing.
