How a change of scenery turned Andrew Vaughn into a fantasy baseball star

In the original “Super Mario Bros.” on Nintendo, there was a glitch in World 3-1 where you could gain infinite lives by manipulating a Koopa Shell on a staircase. Those extra lives ultimately helped you extend the game, giving you more chances to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser.

Andrew Vaughn’s performance since early July feels like fantasy managers stumbled upon a glitch that will provide the boost needed to conquer the competition.

After four mostly mediocre seasons with the White Sox after being the third played picked in the 2019 draft, Vaughn hit .189 with five homers, 19 RBIs and a .531 OPS in his first 48 games before being dealt to the Brewers, where he was immediately sent to the minors.

That was until Rhys Hoskins suffered a left thumb sprain.
