Paris Jackson and Justin Long met at work in 2022. They announced their engagement in 2024 and split in July 2025.
Paris Jackson and Justin Long won’t be getting married after all. While Jackson let the world in on her engagement late last year, she won’t be getting her fairy tale ending just yet. After days of speculation, the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson revealed she had split from her fiancé, in an exasperated social media post. Let’s take a look at their relationship timeline.
How did Paris Jackson and Justin Long meet?
Paris Jackson and Justin Long’s relationship began back in 2022. Long, then a sound engineer, was working on The Tonight Show when Jackson was a guest. He offered her some input during rehearsals, and that was enough to get the ball rolling. According to several sources, they began dating a short time later and, until this recent split, had been together ever since.
Before meeting Long, Jackson had public romances with Michael Snoddy and Gabriel Glenn. She dated Glenn from 2018 until 2020. She romanced Snoody in 2016 and 2017. Long’s previous romances are a bit more mysterious.
When did Paris Jackson and Justin Long get engaged?
It’s unclear exactly when Justin Long popped the question, but we do know he did it on one knee. Jackson let the world in on the secret back in December 2024, after several months of speculation. Jackson confirmed the news in an Instagram post celebrating Long’s birthday. In the post, she featured a photo of Long down on one knee. Fans went wild, thrilled that Jackson was finally spilling the secret after months of rumors.
The rumors began in September 2024 when Jackson was spotted wearing an engagement ring during Paris Fashion Week. She did not acknowledge the ring at the time, nor did she reveal the proposal date. According to Page Six, the massive lab-grown diamond ring was specifically designed for Jackson by Jean Dousset, the great-great-grandson of Louis Cartier.
Whatever went wrong went wrong quickly
While Paris Jackson and Justin Long kept their relationship mostly private, Jackson uncharacteristically chatted about her plans just weeks before the split. Her admission during that one-off interview suggests whatever went wrong between Jackson and Long went wrong quickly and gravely. In June, Jackson appeared on Access Hollywood and was very chatty about her romance. She revealed they were heavily into wedding planning. She even revealed she had ordered a custom dress, and a date and venue had already been chosen. Jackson didn’t share the details, but she did reveal they used an astrologer to pick the perfect wedding date.
Long was on hand to support Jackson at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of One Spoon of Chocolate around the same time. By all accounts, the duo was planning their life together up until moments before the split. While Jackson acknowledged being in tears over her breakup, she has yet to reveal why they split so suddenly. Long is keeping a low profile.
