Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead in a country town in Victoria.
Police were called to a home in Pilleau Street in Coleraine following reports that a woman had been stabbed at about 1.10am.
Coleraine is situated 334 kilometres west of Melbourne.
Officers found a dead woman when they arrived at the scene.
A man “who is known to the woman” has been arrested.
Homicide Squad detectives are heading to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The man will be interviewed by police over the woman’s death.
