It’s a wrap for ‘And Just Like That..’ the series will end with its season 3 finale on August 14, 2025.

HBO Max has called it a day on the Sex and the City franchise. While And Just Like That… looked like it was finding its groove, despite fan criticism, with season 3, viewers won’t get to peek in on Carrie Bradshaw’s post-Aidan life in a fourth season. And Just Like That… won’t return for season 4. The Sex and the City story is coming to a final close.

‘And Just Like That..’ won’t return for a season 4

And Just Like That… fans will have to say goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York once again; the show has not been renewed for season 4. Michael Patrick King, series creator and executive producer, made the announcement on Instagram. King, sharing an open letter via the show’s social media feed, revealed that season 3’s two-part finale will serve as the series finale, too. In the letter, King said it had occurred to the team, while penning the episodes, that it was the right place to stop.

Fans aren’t exactly buying King’s version of events. The series, which was highly anticipated, opened to mixed reviews, with fans bemoaning a lack of cohesion, the loss of Samantha Jones, and the addition of too many new characters. Fan ratings didn’t get any better in season 2, and there has been a fair bit of criticism for season 3. While the show remained one of HBO Max’s most-streamed shows, the criticism appears to have been too much to overcome.
