Fears for schoolchildren after bus hits a truck and flips at busy intersection in Minyip, Victoria

A school bus with children on board has collided with a B-double truck and flipped in Victoria’s north-west.

Emergency responders raced to the scene the intersection of Stawell-Warracknabeal and Minyip-Dimboola roads at Minyip shortly before 9am on Thursday.

It’s understood that four children were on board the 22-seater bus at the time, 3AW reported. Their conditions are currently unknown.

The bus driver was understood to be trapped in the wreckage.

Emergency crews remain at the crash scene.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and take alternative routes. 

Minyip is a small town in Victoria’s Wimmera region, 320km north-west of Melbourne with a population of 525.
