A man was shot in the face in a Manhattan park by two moped-riding armed hooligans —- discharging his own gun at the attempted robbers as they fled, according to sources.
The unidentified victim and a female companion were sitting on a rock along the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park when they were approached by the two men on a moped around 11:50 p.m., according to police sources.

After a brief exchange and tussle, one of the moped-riding men fired a gun and hit the victim in the face.
The man then whipped out his own gun and blasted two shots in the direction of the suspects who fled on the motorized vehicle to parts unknown, according to the NYPD.
The victim is suspected to survive.
An investigation is ongoing.
