Carrie and Aidan have a difficult conversation in the season finale of 'And Just Like That. The conversation was a call back to the original series

Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t willing to suggest Aidan Shaw is Carrie Bradshaw’s endgame love. We are happy about that.

Season 3 of And Just Like That… is in full swing. While John Corbett has returned as Aidan Shaw yet again, his presence isn’t exactly welcomed. Carrie and Aidan reconnecting was supposed to be sweet, and it was initially. It’s different now.  As season 3 progresses, it’s clear that the couple doesn’t belong together. Sarah Jessica Parker recently addressed Aidan and Carrie’s relationship. She doesn’t seem to think they are the endgame couple of the series, either.

Sarah Jessica Parker discusses Carrie and Aidan being an ‘endgame’ couple

Sarah Jessica Parker seems just as unsure of Aidan Shaw as the rest of us at this point. The iconic actor appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this week and chatted about everything from the future of the Hocus Pocus franchise to And Just Like That… While Parker was careful not to reveal too much of the remaining storyline, she was willing to answer questions.

During the chat, Cohen asked Parker if she believed Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw were the “endgame” couple of the series. Parker took a moment, questioned which episode number had recently aired, and then raised an eyebrow. She offered a non-answer by suggesting her “lawyers” advised her not to answer. Parker’s words didn’t give much away, but her facial expression suggests she isn’t sold on the Carrie and Aidan pairing either, and that gives us some hope for the future of this reboot.

The trailer for the next episode suggests more trouble in paradise

While Carrie seemed to fall hard and fast for Aidan again when they reconnected in season 2, Carrie’s interest in Aidan seems to be wavering, and for good reason. In season 3, they’ve battled Aidan’s family issues, his inability to visit New York regularly, and his weird admission that he had slept with his ex-wife. The trailer for the season’s ninth episode suggests that Aidan’s new, closer proximity will also cause problems.

In the trailer, Aidan spends time with Duncan Reeves, Carrie’s downstairs neighbor and writing partner. Aidan’s decision to cozy up to Duncan, likely out of jealousy, leaves Carrie feeling bothered. In the promo, she notes that Aidan crossed a clearly set boundary. Whether she’ll approach him about it has not been revealed, but we are hoping for an epic battle that sends him running back to Virginia. Perhaps he and Kathy can rekindle something, while Carrie cozies up to Duncan Reeves.
