Whitney Purvis can leave a Georgia jail, for now. A judge granted her a $15k bond, but she must adhere to plenty of restrictions as she awaits her day in court.
Whitney Purvis is facing pretty serious charges, but a Georgia judge has deemed her safe enough to go home, at least for now. The 16 and Pregnant star has been granted bail, despite her initial request being denied. That doesn’t mean she’s free to do whatever she wants, though. Her bond comes with several significant restrictions.
Whitney Purvis granted bail
Whitney Purvis won’t need to await her next court date in jail if she can come up with some cash. On July 17, a judge granted Purvis bail. She can leave a Georgia jail cell if she posts a $15,000 bond.
The bond hearing comes just 10 days after Georgia police arrested Purvis on several charges, including involuntary manslaughter and intent to distribute a controlled substance. The charges stem from the February 2025 death of a 37-year-old Georgia man. According to court records, John Mark Harris, a chef, died of a fatal overdose of Tranq, a cocktail of Fentanyl and Xylazine. Purvis is accused of distributing the deadly dose to Harris. She posted a tribute to Harris on his obituary days after his death.
Whitney Purvis will need to adhere to several requirements to stay out of jail for now
It is unclear whether Whitney Purvis, 33, has come up with the bail money yet. Still, if she ends up back on the streets, she won’t be completely free to do as she pleases. Along with posting a $15,000 bond, Purvis will need to adhere to a series of requirements to stay out of jail while she awaits trial.
According to TMZ, Purvis will need to adhere to a curfew. She must be inside her home from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. She has to submit to random drug testing at her own expense, maintain a residence in an approved location, and continue a drug treatment plan. Purvis must abstain from drugs and alcohol. Finally, the judge also banned Purvis from contacting the family of John Mark Harris, her alleged victim.
The bond hearing did not impose restrictions on Purvis regarding her children. Purvis’ son, Weston Gosa, died in June at the age of 16. Her second son, River Gosa, resides with his father. Purvis welcomed a third child in 2023 and has shared photos of Collin ever since. Still, it’s unclear where the child lives and who has had custody of the toddler since Purvis’ arrest.
It is unclear when Purvis will be back in court next.
