A male childcare worker will face court next month charged with the indecent treatment of a young child at a Queensland daycare owned by an embattled childcare provider.
Police arrested the Cleveland man, 21, from the Moreton Bay region earlier this month.
It is alleged the offence involved a four-year-old child at a Tingalpa Affinity childcare facility in Brisbane’s east on July 10.
The centre is part of Affinity Education Group, the same childcare provider that alleged Melbourne paedophile Joshua Dale Brown, 26, worked for before he was recently charged with dozens of child abuse offences.
The Cleveland man was charged with one count of indecent treatment of a child.
He was bailed to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 4.
‘Investigations by the Bayside Child Protection Investigation Unit remain ongoing,’ a police statement read.
‘There is no further information available at this time.’

The Cleveland man has been stood down by the childcare centre, which is now families ‘in any way we can.’
‘This matter is being taken extremely seriously and we are providing our full co-operation with Queensland Police,’ Affinity said in a statement.
‘Upon becoming aware of complaints regarding the individual, we immediately reported the matter to the relevant authorities, including police, and stood down the individual.
“As this is an active investigation, communications with parents regarding this matter is being managed by Queensland Police.’
The Australian childcare industry has been rocked in recent weeks by a string of alleged incidents.
Brown, 26, was charged with over 70 child abuse offences, including sexual penetration and producing child abuse material.
He worked at a total of 23 childcare centres over an eight-year period between January 2017 and May 2025.
An urgent warning was issued to the parents of 1,200 children to take them to the doctor for STI testing.

The alleged incident happened at a Brisbane childcare centre owned by Affinity Education Group, the same provider that alleged Melbourne paedophile Joshua Dale Brown (pictured) worked for
Brown remains in custody to appear in court on September 15.
A second male worker from Sydney was charged with seven counts of using a child under 14 to make abuse material in a separate, unrelated incident last week.
Two female childcare workers were this week accused of assaulting a 17-month-old boy at a South Wentworthville daycare in Sydney’s west on June 26.
Three childcare workers in Adelaide were also sacked earlier this month following an investigation into ‘inappropriate’ nappy rash images of children at a daycare.
