Nola Dinkins: Police Find Child’s Remains Following Delaware Mother’s False Abduction Report

The boyfriend of a Maryland woman charged with killing her 3-year-old daughter in June was hit with additional charges in her death.

WCAU reported that Cedrick Britten, 44, was charged on July 3 with child abuse resulting in Nola Dinkins’ death. Britten is the boyfriend of Darrian Randle, 31, who called New Castle, Delaware, police, claiming Dinkins was abducted at gunpoint before allegedly admitting to fatally beating her with a belt.

Instead of seeking medical help for Dinkins, who was not breathing, Randle reportedly called Britten. They drove around with Dinkins’ body before returning home.

Randle and Britten allegedly put Dinkins’ body in a suitcase and left it on the basement stairs for the night. Britten eventually abandoned the suitcase containing Dinkins’ body at a park in Perryville, Maryland — which he took a photo of for Randle, according to WCAU.

Police said Randle ultimately admitted to lying bout her daughter’s abduction. Britten reportedly drew a map of the Maryland park where he allegedly dumped the toddler’s remains. Her body was recovered the following day.

According to WCAU, officials said Dinkins was emaciated and wrapped in Saran Wrap.

In addition to the child abuse charges, Britten was already charged as an accessory to Dinkins’ first- and second-degree murder. Randle was charged with first- and second-degree murder, and first-degree child abuse resulting in the death of a minor under 13. The pair remains jailed without bail.
