‘Queer Eye’ ending at Netflix after 10 seasons

Filming is about to begin in Washington, D.C. for season 10 of Queer Eye. The upcoming episodes will be the last for the show, per Deadline.
Queer Eye premiered in 2018 and is Netflix’s longest-running unscripted series. The show follows a group of fashion and lifestyle experts as they help makeover people’s lives. The current cast includes relationship expert Karamo Brown, fashion expert Tan France, food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, hair and makeup expert Jonathan Van Ness, and interior design expert Jeremiah Brent. The show is a reboot of the Bravo series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which aired from 2003 to 2007.
Jonathan Van Ness is ‘excited’ for the final season of ‘Queer Eye’
Van Ness celebrated the final season of Queer Eye in an Instagram post on July 9.
“Season 10, the final season,” the hairstylist captioned a series of photos of the Fab Five on the National Mall. “We are so excited to bring this finale to you, and excited for whats next.”
France – who has also hosted TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress With Tan France and Netflix’s Next in Fashion – gave a shout-out to Queer Eye’s loyal fans.
“First day of the FINAL season of Queer Eye,” he wrote on Instagram. “It’s been a long, beautiful journey we’ve been on, and I truly appreciate all of the love and support for our little show, that changed my life in ways I never thought possible. As we begin our farewell season here on D.C I simply want to say thank you! Thank you!!!!!”
The end of Queer Eye comes after reports of behind-the-scenes tension between the cast members. Original cast member Bobby Berk departed the show after season 8. Meanwhile, Van Ness was allegedly difficult to work with, with insiders telling Rolling Stone they could be “abusive” and had “rage issues” on set.
“There was absolutely tension between everybody else, especially from Jonathan Van Ness,” one production member said. “He didn’t want to ever share the spotlight with anyone. There were times when we couldn’t even shoot scenes with certain members of the Fab Five together because it got so bad.”
