A Colorado teen is facing charges after police say he sexually assaulted a young child at an Englewood water park.
According to an Englewood Police Department press release, the incident happened at the Pirates Cove Water Park on July 8. The suspect, identified as Trenton Moskovita, 18, is facing charges that include suspicion of sexual assault on a child and kidnapping.
Police arrested Moskovita at the park after reports that he led a 5-year-old girl into a family changing room, where he sexually assaulted her.
CBS News reports that he’s accused of covering the child’s mouth when she tried to scream. The victim then ran out of the changing room and told her parents about the assault, according to police.
A park employee told police he saw the child “visibly upset” and “crying so hard [she] coudn’t speak.”
When police detained Moskovita, he allegedly tried to pull away from the officers while claiming they had the wrong person. He reportedly added that he was at the park with triplet siblings.
Police said security footage, however, showed the suspect walking to the changing room with the child, and staying there for nine minutes.
Moskovita was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail and given a $200,000 cash bond. A court hearing has been scheduled for July 11.
