Shannon Price insists she had nothing to do with Gary Coleman’s death. A lie detector test might prove otherwise.
In an official trailer for the upcoming series Lie Detector: Truth or Deception, Shannon Price, Gary Coleman’s ex-wife, insists she is willing to submit to a lie detector test to once and for all establish that she did not murder the iconic child actor. While Price seemed confident that the lie detector would prove her innocence, it might not be that simple. A clip for the premiere episode indicates that Price was being deceptive about the events surrounding Gary Coleman’s death.
Shannon Price was deceptive during a recent lie detector test
It has been years since Gary Coleman died after a fall. In the years since, a quiet suspicion has fallen over the event that took his life. Shannon Price, Coleman’s live-in ex-wife, has been the focus of that suspicion. Some of Coleman’s friends suspect she was involved in his death. Fans suspect it, too. Price insists she’s innocent, but she might not be. At the very least, there might be more to the story of the day Coleman fell and all that transpired after it.
In a clip obtained by People, Price’s retelling of events is doing very little to shore up her image. Her lie detector test performance has cast greater doubt on the death. According to the clip, it might just prove that her story was fabricated.
According to the outlet, Price’s answers to several questions related to Coleman and his death were registered as inconclusive, while one answer was registered as deception. It’s unclear whether anything more is expected to come from the test. Fans will have the opportunity to see it administered when the series premieres. Lie Detector: Truth or Deception premieres on July 10.
How did Gary Coleman die?
In May 2010, Gary Coleman suffered a fall inside his home in Utah. According to reports from that time, Shannon Price found her ex-husband in a pool of blood inside his kitchen, but allegedly did not see him fall. She called for help and followed him to the hospital, where his condition grew worse over two days.

Doctors placed Coleman on life support, but after his condition failed to improve, Price authorized hospital staff to withdraw lifesaving measures. Coleman died at 42 on the afternoon of May 28. While Coleman’s cause of death was ruled accidental, those closest to him questioned whether Price had more to do with the fall that took the actor’s life than she was willing to admit. After all, the couple, who had divorced years earlier, had a tumultuous and toxic relationship. It was so toxic that Coleman sought out a restraining order against Price just months before Coleman’s death.
