Angel Reese hyped to be joining Napheesa Collier’s ‘stacked’ WNBA All-Star team

Angel Reese is an All-Star again — and she’s excited to join the team picked by Napheesa Collier.

After it was announced she was picked by the Lynx star on Tuesday night in the WNBA All-Star Game draft, Reese went to X to share her excitement for joining Team Collier, which will take on the squad selected by the Fever’s Caitlin Clark.

“nah team PHEE is STACKEDDD,” Reese wrote with a smiley face emoji.

Reese will once again be opposite Clark with their rivalry thrust into the spotlight thanks to Christine Brennan’s new book, “On Her Game: Caitlin Clark and the Revolution in Women’s Sports,” for which the author claims the Sky star turned down requests for comment.

Reese, an All-Star for the second time in as many years, has averaged 12.6 points, a league-leading 12.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists for the Sky this season.

She particularly stood out in June, where she averaged over 13 points on 45.9 percent shooting — a big improvement over the 31.1 percent she shot from the field in the first five games in May.

Reese has shined with six double-double efforts in a row, with the last five seeing her grab at least 15 rebounds and score 15 points in each game.

“I feel like this is the year I had to really earn it,” Reese said of her selection, according to Yahoo. “I had to grind.”

Reese will be a reserve on the team while Breanna Stewart (Liberty), Allisha Gray (Dream), Nneka Ogwumike (Storm) and rookie Paige Bueckers (Wings) (No. 8) will start on the floor with Collier.

Clark’s team will include Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu, three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson (Aces), Satou Sabally (Mercury) and Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell of the Fever.

Reese and the rest of the All-Stars will get to put their skills to the test on July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana.
