Former Olympic gymnastics star Mary Lou Retton is glassy-eyed and disheveled in newly-revealed mug shots from her May DUI arrest.
Retton – who was known as “America’s sweetheart” when she took home gold in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics – looked on the verge of tears as she squinted at the camera in the mug shots, taken by West Virginia police.
The 57-year-old was arrested in the Mountain State after police pulled over her Porsche and found her in the driver’s seat with a screw-top bottle of wine.
She refused to have her blood tested during the arrest.
