You can’t win them all.
Alex Cooper was loudly booed at the Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sunday, as she sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th-inning stretch.
The boos started before the “Call Your Daddy” host even started talking, according to video on social media. The jeering then got louder as Cooper sang off-key with two friends serving as backup dancers.
“Alright Daddy Gang and Cubs fans, are you ready?” Cooper addressed the crowd before her cringe-worthy performance. “You’ve never seen something like this before.”
But the podcaster and her girlfriends appeared to take the awkward moment in stride, clearly laughing as she continued to enthusiastically sing the baseball anthem.
Cooper, 30, didn’t post her performance on Instagram. She instead promoted her Unwell Hydration drink while in Chicago.
But some fans took the opportunity to comment on her performance anyway.
“You should be banned from Wrigley cuz that performance made me physically ill,” one person commented on her post.
“Why did you think it was appropriate to sing the stretch like that? Never come back to Wrigley please,” another comment read.
Another user noted, “It’s an HONOR to sing the 7th inning stretch. Curious as to why you turned it into a joke??? 😢.”
Cooper has been in the spotlight as of late for her lucrative deals. She jumped from Spotify to SiriusXM in a reported $125 million deal last August.
She later revealed she once turned down an $8 million influencer partnership because it didn’t align with her views.
“I think it’s important to say no to s–t because then you just lose your f–king credibility,” she said on the “Boyfriend Material” podcast in April.
